Privacy Policy
This page explains what ChuniMaru stores, why it stores it, and how data related to your account and sync features is handled.
Last updated: 2026-07-24
What ChuniMaru Collects
ChuniMaru may store your login email (or your Google account email if you sign in with Google) through Supabase Auth, your chosen username and preferences, imported CHUNITHM records, synced favorites, Todo data, your linked Discord id if you connect one, and other account-related settings needed to operate the site. If you set your profile public, your username and records are visible to other users.
Automatic Sync and Local Tools
If you use automatic sync or import tools, ChuniMaru may use local browser storage and local sync helpers to hold the information needed to refresh your data from CHUNITHM-NET. Automatic Sync does not store your SEGA ID username or password; it stores only an encrypted clal cookie for future syncs.
Notice Comments
Comments you write on notice posts are public. If you post anonymously, your account identity is still stored with the comment: it is never shown to other users, but the operator can see it. Deleted comments stay visible as [deleted] placeholders without content or identity, and deleting your account permanently severs the stored identity link on your past comments.
How This Data Is Used
- To log you in and keep your account available across sessions.
- To display your records, ratings, favorites, and Todo information inside ChuniMaru.
- To run optional sync features that you choose to use.
- To keep the site working and to diagnose problems.
Third-Party Services
Game Content Ownership
Game-related names, art, music, charts, trademarks, and other CHUNITHM materials shown or referenced by ChuniMaru are owned or copyrighted by SEGA or their respective owners. For official information, see the CHUNITHM site and the music list below.
Retention and Deletion
Account data is generally kept while your account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and all data tied to it yourself from the Account page (Delete Account). Deleted data cannot be recovered: it is wiped from the database immediately. You can create a new account and re-sync your records, but your history, friends data, preferences, and everything else stored with the old account are lost. Data stored locally on your device may also need to be cleared from your browser or local sync setup.
Your Choices
You may stop using sync features at any time, update your preferences from the account page, or permanently delete your account and its data from the Account page. For anything not covered by self-service, requests are handled manually through the contact channel.
Contact
For privacy questions or deletion requests, please contact the project operator through the project's listed contact channel.
